Havelock Montessori School is owned and operated by myself,  a mother of two young children. I was concerned about my daughter when she was approaching the age to begin traditional public school. Having a teaching diploma and the insight into traditional daycare and public school system I knew that my daughter’s energy and enthusiasm would be frowned upon in a traditional classroom. I decided that I wanted my children to attend a school that allowed children to be individuals. A school that allowed the children to use their energy and curiosity to develop their intellect. I researched the Montessori Philosophy, attended Montessori Teachers College and decided that it was the best fit for not only my own children but for all children.

Even though the spelling was wrong the message was clear. When I painted this in Grade 1, I knew I wanted to be a teacher.
