  1. Home Up

April 2007

After a very snowy winter, the children at the school are very excited that spring has finally arrived. They have watched the tips of the flower poke their heads out of the ground, grow tall and produce buds. The children are anxiously awaiting the buds to open so they can see what colour the flower will be.  The children in the casa room have been very busy. They made some super seed salad for the bird feeders here at school. They have enjoyed watching the birds at the feeder that is outside of the classroom window, this allows them to have a close up look at the beautiful birds. We have looked through bird books are able to identify the kinds of birds that are visiting our bird feeders.

The toddlers also enjoy the bird feeder outside of the classroom and they get so excited when a new bird visits the feeder for a snack. The toddlers had to opportunity to help the casa children make lemonade from fresh lemons. They enjoyed their lemonade during afternoon snack.

The toddlers and casa children are having a great time outside playing with the spring and summer toys. They also have been watching for signs of spring such as new flowers, buds on trees and animals. We are looking forward to a nice warm spring and summer.

We will be setting up a booth in the Celebrate Havelock show on Saturday May 12, 2007 at the Havelock Arena from 9:00am to 5:00pm. It is an opportunity to showcase the local businesses in Havelock, Belmont and Methuen. We look forward to seeing you there.

Yours in teaching,

Katie
