  1. Home Up

The school has continued to operate all summer and the children have had a wonderful time here at school. I will re-cap some of the many exciting things that the children have enjoyed.

On the very hot days, and there were many, we spent time in the pool and engaging in other water related activities. When it was too hot to be outside we stayed cool in our air-conditioned school.

I am very pleased to say that our butterfly garden has attracted a huge variety of butterflies, humming birds and other creatures so we can have a close-up look at them. Our many bird feeders and the pond have brought birds to our backyard such as blue jays, oriels, finches and robins. We even have a frog that has moved into our pond with the goldfish. The children are so excited.

The children had a special visitor from Larraine Roulston, who performed a puppet show about the importance of composting.

The Toddler and Casa children, in addition to helping prepare snacks, were involved in baking pumpkin bread, banana bread and making strawberry jelly. Yummy!

The toddler children continue to grow and amaze us everyday. They are learning new words everyday and becoming more independent. They have enjoyed art, our new toddler classroom and collecting bugs and toads.

The Casa children have enjoyed the puzzle maps, as they study the map of Canada. They have also really liked the metal insets, binomial cube and the golden bead materials as they learn math concepts.

We look forward to a wonderful 2007-2008 school year as our school continues to grow every day.

 Yours in teaching,

 Katie
