Children in the toddler
room are ages 18 months to 3 years. The toddler room is
designed to allow the toddler the opportunity to develop and refine skills
that they are driven by nature to learn. Young children learn through
their senses, by touching, smelling, listening, tasting, pushing, pulling
and carrying. The materials offered to the toddlers allow them to use
their senses to learn new skills. The toddler also wants to be very
independent, they want to do activities by themselves.
The toddler room is
designed to promote independence in the young child by being equipped with
child size furniture, dishes, and activities, cubbies and materials.
The teachers observe the children and provide assistance only when
necessary because we know that children learn best by experiencing their
environment without the interruption of adults.
